As an avid carnivore, I thoroughly enjoy sinking my teeth into large chunks of meat. There are few things in this world as satisfying as biting into a moist delicious turkey leg and rending meat from bone. If you share my carnivorous food lust, this recipe is for you. In the past, I would have to visit the local theme park or carnival to enjoy a moist and delicious smoked turkey leg, but now I can make them at home.

Moist Delicious Smoked Turkey Legs Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 gallon of water
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons thyme
  • 2 tablespoons sage
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl mix together all ingredients.
  2. Using an injector, inject each muscle with liquid.
  3. Add turkey legs to the remaining liquid and refrigerate overnight (at least 6 hours).
  4. Smoke for 3 hours at 225° in smoker.
  5. Smoke for 1 1/2 hours at 250° in smoker.
  6. Enjoy!
